L2 Photography - Semester B
Teacher in Charge: J. Mears
Level 2 Photography - Invented Images
Level 2 Photography is a camera based Visual Arts drawing course. It is a course for students who have achieved Level 1 Visual Arts and want to expand their skills into Digital Photography with an emphasis on making Art with a Camera. The course covers camera, lighting studio and editing and layout skills using Adobe LIghtroom, Photoshop and InDesign.
In this second Semester students choose their own subject matter from the course theme of Invented Images, develop their work from their second internal to plan and make a body of work for their External Portfolio Boards (2.4).
Photography develops visual thinking and compositional skills. It leads to Level 3 Photography and compliments many pathways within the Creative and Visual Arts. Further study in Fine Arts or Design will lead to rewarding career outcomes.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Basic art materials such as communal pens and pencils, access to specialty photography will be available. It is recommended that students have a take home kit that includes a good design pen, a highlighter, a quality visual diary plus a USB stick drive.
The Kaipara College Art Department also provides limited loan DSLR cameras (on signing of a loan agreement) plus free access to the Adobe Creative Suite and a limited number of PC's for student use.
