L2 Drama - Semester B

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Lunt

Level 2 Drama: La La Land

Drama at its core inspires the love of exploring imagination physically. Drama helps to create confident, adaptable team players. It enables creative thinking in all aspects of a student’s life at Kaipara and beyond.

At level two, Drama continues to develop and hone the skills students have been using in level one Drama. It also continues to grow students confidence in performing.

Semester B uses the skills learned in Semester A to perform more sustained and in-depth characterisation.

Semester B standards taught:

Achievement Standard 2.1 - Apply drama techniques in a scripted context.

Students hone acting techniques and gain confidence in shorter scenes in the lead up to the production standard.

Achievement Standard 2.6 - Perform a substantial acting role in a scripted production.

The course culminates in a full production where students have the opportunity to realise more sustained and in-depth characterisation.

There is also the option to write and/or direct a scene.

To gain a Merit or Excellence course endorsement in this subject, you will need to take it for both semesters.

It is recommended students have taken level one Drama and/or have experience in performing extra curricular.
