L1 Horticulture & Sustainability - Semester B

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs B. Neville

Level 1 Horticulture & Sustainability - Semester B

This course takes the plant knowledge learnt in Semester A and transfers it into a landscape design.  Students will design an area, either a lunch area within the school or an area of their own choosing. There is also an external which focuses on plant management practices and plant physiology.

Prior Learning & Prerequisites

Plant structure and function.

Semester A is useful prior knowledge for both the landscape design standard and the external exam.  Students need a solid understanding of plant structure as well as the processes that plants carry out, such as photosynthesis and respiration.  It is recommended that the student has some prior knowledge in this area, either through the Junior Plant Science Course or Year 10 Sustainable Horticulture.
