This course provides Industry Unit Standards in Carpentry at Level 2. The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation has developed these unit standards
This course builds on the skills and knowledge developed in Level 1. There is a focus on health & safety legislation.
Students are instructed in the correct and safe use of a range of portable power tools, such as, jigsaw, router, portable power saw and so on.
Students construct an item of timber garden furniture.
Students can go on to consider apprenticeships in a variety of building and construction industries, such as, carpentry, brick and block-laying, joinery, painting and decorating and so on.Career Pathways

Selection of a course does not guarantee entry into the course. Courses may not run due to low numbers and timetable clashes may occur. In both of these situations, the student will be consulted about alternative courses during the Course Confirmation process.
