This course provides Industry Unit Standards in Carpentry at Level 2. The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation has developed these unit standards
This course builds on the skills and knowledge developed in Level 1. There is a focus on health & safety legislation.
Students are instructed in the correct and safe use of a range of portable power tools, such as, jigsaw, router, portable power saw and so on.
Students construct an item of timber garden furniture.
Prior Learning & Prerequisites
If you have not taken Carpentry previously you will need to discuss Discretionary Entry with Mr Harris and the HoF Technology.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$135 for projects to be taken home
Pathway
Students can go on to consider apprenticeships in a variety of building and construction industries, such as, carpentry, brick and block-laying, joinery, painting and decorating and so on.

Total Credits Available: 18 credits.
