L1 Drama

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Lunt.

NCEA Level 1 Drama (1DRA)

Why should students take this course?

Drama at its core inspires the love of exploring imagination physically.

At senior level, Drama continues to develop the skills students have been experimenting with in junior Drama. It also continues to grow students confidence in performing.

The course focuses on the influences of theatre and how it can inspire students’ own original drama. As the course continues, students gain the opportunity to use these skills and learn to perform more sustained and in depth characterisation.

Drama helps to create confident, adaptable team players. It enables creative thinking in all aspects of a student’s life at Kaipara and beyond.

This course is suited to those interested in a career or tertiary study in acting, writing, and producing work in film, television,  and live performance.
