Course Description

NCEA Level 3 Automotive Engineering (3AUT)
This course is for students who are interested in vehicles and automotive engineering. You will work as an individual or in a small group to design and build a Pit bike or Go Kart.
This course will teach you or enhance your existing skills of how to operate fixed workshop machines and learn how to use a MIG welder. All completed Unit Standards go towards you achieving a National Certificate in Automotive Engineering.
Career pathways include Automotive Mechanic, Automotive Engineer, Automotive Specialist Engineer.
Pathways could include engineering, fabrication, automotive courses or apprenticeships.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
There will be a cost associated with taking projects home. This will be determined on a project-by-project basis.
