Course Description

NCEA Level 3 Processing Technology (3PRO)

 This course allows you to explore technological processing techniques to create processed outcomes to address specific needs. The course includes an investigation into the design process, considering various human factors and design elements.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of different ingredients and materials, to design and create your own products using a range of processes. This will include, but is not limited to food ingredients and cooking.

Students will learn about the technological design process as well as a range of concepts used in various aspects of processing. This course includes a mixture of theory and practical based learning, so will incorporate health & safety and practical skills associated with processing food and other ingredients.

Pathways include food technology, biotechnology, and hospitality industry.
