L1 Science - The Nature of Science  - Semester A

This course focuses on the key scientific skill of investigation. Students will learn how to ask questions that can be answered by Science, how to formulate hypotheses and how to plan rigorous experiments to test them. They will learn several practical techniques that allow for the collection of accurate and reliable data.

This is a hands on, practical style course, great for students who like to plan and carry out experiments.


All Achievement Standards on this course are assessed internally.

The student will have to study a Level 1 Semester B Science course in order to gain a Course Endorsement.

L1 Science - Astrobiology - Semester B, L1 Science - Carbon Chemistry - Semester B, L1 Science - PhysChem - Semester B, L1 Science: BioChem - Semester B, L2 Earth and Space Science - Semester A, L2 Earth and Space Science - Semester B

This course can lead onto Semester B Science courses. Most Level 2 Science courses require some credits from a Level 1 Semester B Science course. You do not have to study Level 1 Science Semester A Courses in order to do Level 1 Science Semester B Science courses.

Credit Information

This course is eligible for subject endorsement, however, you will need to select both Semester A and B.
