Course Description

Level 3 English - Semester B

Pick your literary poison!

This course is the Mount Everest of Kaipara College English courses - you have prepared for four and a half years to take your final semester of English at high school! This course is all about ‘literature’. What exactly is  ‘literature’? Who decides what is and what is not literature? What does it teach us and why are there so many university courses dedicated to it? This semester is about preparing students for university-style English study which is beneficial whether the plan is a degree in English or some other major. If you are passionate about English, it will also be helpful to build robust communication skills for students, no matter what your tertiary plans are.
