Design and visual communication focuses on spatial/product design (students choice) using student-centred design briefs to enhance students ability to conceptualise, develop and communicate design ideas and potential outcomes.
Students will learn skills to effectively communicate ideas using divergent thinking and presentation skills to showcase their design ideas.
Prior Learning & Prerequisites
If you did not take DVC at Level 2 you will need to discuss Discretionary Entry with Mr Cooper and the HoF Technology.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A computer other than a chromebook would be an advantage.
Assessment InformationThe external standard is an optional extra for those students wishing to pursue subject endorsement.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 22 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 4 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 18 credits.

At least 14 Achieved credits are required in an approved subject for the subject to count as an approved University Entrance subject.
Selection of a course does not guarantee entry into the course. Courses may not run due to low numbers and timetable clashes may occur. In both of these situations, the student will be consulted about alternative courses during the Course Confirmation process.
