Course Description

NCEA Level 2 Automotive Engineering

This course is for students who are interested in vehicles and automotive engineering. You will work as an individual or in a small group to design and build a Go-Kart.

This course will teach you  how to operate fixed workshop machines and learn how to use a MIG welder and an Oxy/Acetylene gas plant. All completed Unit Standards go towards you achieving a National Certificate in Automotive Engineering.

Leads on to L3 Automotive Engineering.

Career pathways include Automotive Mechanic, Automotive Engineer, Automotive Specialist Engineer.



Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

There will be a cost associated with taking projects home. This will be determined on a project-by-project basis.
