10JAP

10 Japanese (Line 2)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr J. Sinclair.

This course will build on the introduction that was given in Year 9. It will also give a foundation to those who would like to extend their studies into NCEA Year 11. Students will learn and become confident in using  a variety of language structures that will allow them to interact conversationally in Japanese.  They will become familiar with writing texts of Hiragana and Katakana as well as learning some Kanji along the way. They will be able to at the end of the course be able to write simple notes. Culture will also be studied as this is also an important factor of learning a language.

Pathway

There is a possibility that Kaipara College will offer a NCEA L1 Japanese class in 2024, otherwise our language students are taught through online learning.
