L1 Science - Carbon Chemistry - Semester B

Students will learn how carbon works with other elements to create the building blocks of the living material we see around us. It serves as the ideal foundation course for Level 2 Chemistry.

Curriculum Skills:

  • Research skills - Finding and evaluating information
  • Communication using language, symbols and text - We learn the language of chemistry. Once this is understood, it will be a vital skill in all later science courses.
  • Managing self - encouraging students to have a can-do attitude and be proactive about their learning.
  • Participating and contributing: An important aspect of science is the ability to communicate findings and ideas. We develop this skill during this course.
