L1 English Crime - Semester B
Have you ever wondered what makes a criminal tick? Have you ever imagined yourself with a magnifying glass and a notepad solving the strangest of crimes? Then this class is for you.
Become an amateur detective for a semester and investigate the motives of criminal masterminds. We will hunt down clues in our own escape rooms, research infamous cases and analyse evidence to figure out the who, what, when and where of the crime. So dust off your Cluedo set, get out those binoculars and let's solve some mysteries!
Standards listed below are subject to change and will be decided in collaboration with the students and their teacher at the beginning of the semester. Students will be offered 8-10 credits for this course. Students will also have the opportunity to take this course without an external exam if they choose.
Students can take this course for both semesters.
Prior Learning & Prerequisites

Pathway
Communication skills learned in English provide a solid foundation for all jobs and career pathways, but especially for careers in marketing, research, consultancy, journalism, management, human resources and trades. The crime theme will also spark interest for students looking at careers in crime investigation, forensics, data analysis and law enforcement.
Credit Information
This course is eligible for subject endorsement, however, you will need to select both Semester A and B.
Total Credits Available: 14 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 8 credits.
