L1 Drama - Semester B

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Lunt

Level 1 Drama - You Looking at Me?

Drama at its core inspires the love of exploring imagination physically. Drama helps to create confident, adaptable team players. It enables creative thinking in all aspects of a student’s life at Kaipara and beyond.

At senior level, Drama continues to develop the skills students have been experimenting with in junior Drama. It also continues to grow students confidence in performing.

Semester two continues to use these skills and learning to perform more sustained and in depth characterisation.

Semester two standards taught:

Achievement Standard 1.1 - Apply drama techniques in a dramatic context.

Students hone acting techniques and gain confidence in shorter scenes in the lead up to the production standard.

Achievement Standard 1.6 - Perform an acting role in a scripted production.

The course culminates in a full production where students have the opportunity to realise more sustained and in-depth characterisation.

To gain a Merit or Excellence course endorsement in this subject, you will need to take it for both semesters.

Prior Learning & Prerequisites

It is recommended students have taken Drama in year 10 and/or year 9 and/or have experience in performing extra curricular.
