NCEA Level 1 Processing Technology and Hospitality (1PRO)
This course will appeal to students who have enjoyed processing in Year 10 and who have a passion for developing their culinary skills in the kitchen.
Processing Technology and Hospitality Level 1 provides students with an opportunity to complete a mix of both Achievement Standards and Unit Standards. The Achievements Standards use mixed materials and follow the technological process of the development of process outcomes. The Unit Standards work alongside these to develop practical for skills in the kitchen and equip students for a career in hospitality. This course therefore enables students to explore pathways to either Senior Processing Technology or Senior Hospitality.
Leads into either Processing Technology or Hospitality at L2. Pathways include food technology, biotechnology, and hospitality industry.
Pathway
This course can lead on to any of the Processing Technology pathways Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Technology.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 20 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 4 credits.
